Funeral of John Totham
The funeral of John Totham will take place at 1400HRS on Thursday 7 May at Long Ditton cemetery. The graveside service will be attended by immediate family only and will be conducted by Fr David King of the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Name, Esher.
His family have asked that in his memory, and instead of floral tributes, they are raising funds for Molesey Hospital. This is a small community hospital which provides rehabilitation care. John stayed here for a short while. Donations can be made via the page set up by Lodge brothers funeral directors here:
During this time of restrictions on attendance at funeral services, the funeral cortege will be travelling (with 4 family vehicles following the hearse) en route to the cemetery around Claygate. Attached is a document detailing this route. If you would like to stand at a fixed point along this route (mindful of course of social distancing rules) to say a farewell to John then the family would be delighted to see you. The cortege will be setting out from 83 Oaken Lane from 1330HRS.
The family have asked that where possible you could pause for a few moments at 1400HRS on 7 May and remember John in your prayers.
The Guild is proposing to make a donation to the chosen charity in memory of John and our National Chaplain Fr. Barry Lomax offered a private Mass for John upon hearing of his passing.
